MBC out sources issuing of Benefit Claim Reviews
Print Image Network had been designing, publishing and printing the main benefit claim form for this Metropolitan Borough Council for some time. At one particular meeting, the Benefit Manager explained the difficulties his department encountered in reviewing existing benefit claims.
In order to assist the Council in addressing their problems and thereby raising performance standards, Print Image Network embarked on finding a solution.
Lateral thinking
Research, development and trials suggested a new approach was needed; one that co-ordinated the production of the form, with respect to the process it would eventually undergo. Some lateral thinking presented a method whereby booklets could be processed and finished on demand whilst still maintaining a supply of standard forms to the council for their own use. The process not only presented a very professional result, but one that could be produced very quickly.
Higher standards – lower costs
A costing exercise was conducted with the Council and the results showed a significant saving in staff time and also negated the need to bring in temporary staff at peak periods.
The Council have recently confirmed that they now couldn’t manage without the review service, which Print Image Network provides. The added benefit of increased customer service levels has meant that the authority deals with new claims quicker, more efficiently and to a higher standard.
