The situation
Communications (letters, benefit notifications, statements) to tenants were being treated as “one off” orders with no economies of scale and very tight timescales. Council staff were involved in a lot of administration, and often had to carry out mailings themselves – with all the disruption this caused to the Department.
The solution
Print Image Network was awarded the tender to produce all of the printed (and associated) work for two years. Immediately, vast cost savings were made. Instead of printing 14,000 envelopes at a time, 100,000 were printed and held in stock. This alone saved £1,000’s. Authorised staff can order their work to be carried out, safe in the knowledge that everything will be completed in vastly reduced lead times, that corporate style’s will be followed and most importantly they don’t have to interrupt their core activity by having to carry out rush mailings on an “ad-hoc” basis.
The efficiency of the Department has increased and Communications with Tenants has been vastly improved.
